Dodd Civil provided Civil Engineering services for the design and build of a new $55M state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution warehouse for Sistema Plastics in Mangere, Auckland. Sitting next to Auckland International Airport, the site covered an area of 100,000m2 with the new building footprint covering an area of 50,000m2. The project involved 5,3000m3 of cut-to-fill earthworks, 12,500m2 of new carparking pavement, 17,200m2 of new heavy-duty pavement, 5,200m2 of truck access pavement and 150m of timber retaining.

CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS

The short timeframe and a fixed deadline required careful resourcing to stay on program.
We worked successfully with a multidisciplinary team, including main Contractors, subcontractors, architect, planners and structural engineers to bring the project in ahead of schedule.
There were many design changes made during construction to meet the changing client needs of this complex project.
